Join our team
of Dyslexia Certificate Course Providers As
a course provider, you will be able to help a lot of dyslexic children in your
area and bring about a wider understanding of their needs.
Our
team of course providers We
have a number of Course Providers around the world who enrol local parents and
teachers on our Dyslexia Certificate course.
Providers
advertise the Direct Learning Dyslexia Certificate course in a local newspaper
or by printing flyers,
and are contacted by interested teachers, parents, and classroom assistants. They
run classes at home, in a school or central location using the course materials
as a structure. Any tricky points can be clarified, and the students can be assisted
in sending in their assignments by email to us if they do not have a computer
at home. Parents with a dyslexic child are interested, and local schools often
appreciate having one of their teachers trained to help dyslexic children and
to advise other teachers on the staff.
Running
the course as a group can be very valuable as it allows people to share ideas
in group discussion, particularly about local schools and organizations. You will
need to make some charge for your own costs and time on top of the cost of the
actual course.
Our
smallest group was was four students, and the largest group we have had is 25!
We receive lots of
positive feedback about the usefulness of the course. Course
fees and your discount The
price of the course
is on our website.
When paying by check/cheque, our
representatives usually enclose a list of their students on the form
provided on our website. Please type in the students' names before printing it
out so that we have accurate spellings for their certificates when they complete
the course. There is another form
for you to complete with your personal details; once again, please type in your
details before printing out the form. 10%
discount There
is a 10% educational discount for groups of three or more, and we provide
a free student's place for every ten students. So, for example, if you
had 12 students, you would qualify for 10% reduction overall, as well as having
one student free (i.e. the cost would be for 11 students, less 10%). You will
need to charge your students an appropriate course fee which will also cover your
costs for teaching, administration and emailing us your students' assignments.
Depending on your
circumstances and how much home study your students can undertake, you will need
to decide how many sessions you will need to run the course. If your students
are capable of a lot of home study, then six sessions might be adequate, with
an introductory session followed by five further sessions, one for each Module.
However, the majority of students will probably need eleven sessions, with an
introductory session followed by two sessions for each Module. In either case,
you might also decide to meet up when your students have completed all their assignments
to have a Certificate Presentation ceremony.
You
can send the total registration fee for your group by using an International Banker's
Draft - by registered post - in UK pounds sterling, or a cheque of you live in
the UK. You can also order using your credit/debit card on a special page we have with the 10% discount already deducted. If you let us know how many students you have, we will advise you of the
exact cost by email:
Course
materials delivered by airmail We
will send you the course materials by airmail by return post. This will probably
take about 4-7 days for delivery, but it is not easy to be precise with parcels.
The course is administered
from our Guildford, UK office and the address is at the side of this page. Providing
a valuable new service By
becoming a Course Provider, you will be arranging for a valuable new service for
parents of dyslexic children, and teachers in in your area, and I am sure that
it will be a great success. Please contact Teresa Burns on the email address above
if we can be of any further help. Flyers
and logo There
is a prepared flyer
or leaflet for the course which might be helpful for spreading the word about
the course. If you go to Edit > Select All and Copy this page, you can then
Paste it onto a blank Microsoft Word (or other word processor) document. You can
then type in your own contact details at the bottom of the leaftet for photocopying.
There is also a copy of our logo
for you to copy and use. Qualifications
