    Established in 1976. Primary emphasis is providing learning-different children with full, effective curriculum through individualized, structured multisensory programs.
    Learning differences include dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language disorders.


  • Flint Academy, Arlngton - Dyslexia prevention and dyslexia remediation, with the use of multisensory, hands-on, and self-correcting materials, in all subject areas, changing throughout the year, depending on what is being studied at the time and what skills need to be reinforced.

  • Rawson Saunders School, Austin - full curriculum school for elementary and middle school students with dyslexia. The emphasis of the school is to facilitate student mastery of oral and written language skills by providing a structured, academic curriculum with class sizes of 1:10 and individualized daily academic language therapy in a ratio of 1:1 or 1:2.

  • Home School Academy -  focus on each individual child's needs, both strengths and weaknesses, and build the program around the child. Specializes in teaching children with dyslexia. 'The curriculum of a school should fit the child, the child does not need to fit into a curriculum!' This is a Texas Not for Profit, 501(c)(3) entity'

  • Hill School - at Fort Worth and Grapevine. Providing services to bright students with learning differences such as dyslexia since 1973.  Hill School, Fort Worth serves 235 students in grades 2-12, and Hill School, Grapevine serves 65 students in grades 1-6.

  • Dyslexia Resources Center in Austin - A non-profit organization providing evaluations for learning disabilities specifically dyslexia, consultations for families, tutoring services for dyslexics, and professional development for educators.

  • Scottish Rite Learning Center of Austin - offers a program of screening and instruction for children with dyslexia. Once the child is determined to be at risk for dyslexia, and eligibility for the program is established, special classes are available at no cost to the child's family.

  • Texas Scottish Rite Hospital - Richardson, Texas. Dyslexia Training Program - an instructional videotape series presenting a curriculum specifically designed to meet the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Dyslexia Program descriptors. This linguistic program is systematic, sequential and cumulative. Also Literacy Training and other programs.

  • Texas Scottish Rite Journal - 'Combatting Dyslexia - The Hidden Hardship' - The 1996 school year of the Scottish Rite Learning Center of West Texas began by enrolling 44 apprehensive but hopeful children with dyslexia in a two-year, multi-structured program designed to teach them to read, spell, and write properly. Sixteen other dyslexic children who applied for admission were not enrolled. A shame? Not really -- not anymore.

  • Access Counseling Referrals and Resources - throughout Texas - education of parents regarding dyslexia and methods to support their child, resources utilized through the educational environment, support groups and therapists familiar with the condition as a support/information resource.

  • Learning Disabilities Association of Texas - a nationally affiliated non-profit parent/professional organization chartered in 1963 to promote the education and general welfare of individuals with learning disabilities. LDAT membership includes parents, educators, adults with learning disabilities and professionals from a variety of related fields.

  • Neuhaus Education Center - provides a multisensory approach to teaching the basic language skills of reading, writing, and spelling to all students, including those students with language learning differences, especially dyslexia. (Bellaire)

  • Neurolearning - Board certified neurologist who specializes in learning disorders including dyslexia (near Seattle).
